Midnight Tavern
Architectural Design
Superstition and rituals have played a major role in Mexican culture for centuries. The design of this tavern intends to pay homage to it. This approach resulted in the customer becoming an active participant in the “rituals” throughout the night.
The challenge consisted in transforming an existing seafood restaurant into a midnight tavern that celebrates the mystical side of Mexican culture. To do this, we created a warm and inviting atmosphere that accentuates the vibe and style of the place. We started by using soft indirect light, natural textures like wood, leather, fur, and an earthy color palette. Then we employed some design elements to emphasize the theme, like a rope-made lattice, a fireplace, a recycled wood DJ booth, and a 12m long artwork by artist Roberto del Rio.
