Neighbourhood Kitchen
Interior Design
The challenge was to create a modern “organic neighbourhood kitchen” where the local community can buy healthy and organic food, with a farmers’ market atmosphere.
The distribution of the project’s program takes advantage of the elongated form of the site, which is very narrow and compact. The kitchen faces the street, which provides an opportunity to directly serve the diners inside and outside the restaurant. As a result, we built an outward-facing pick-up window, indoor and outdoor eating tables, and an open kitchen.
We created a more natural, friendly, and fresh atmosphere through the use of pine wood for the wall cladding and furniture, exposed concrete floors, and a light color palette with green, turquoise, and blue. To achieve a more harmonious appearance, the furniture was designed and made in our studio.
